Watch for Your HTMA Kit in the mail (unless you are international, see below)
Your HTMA test kit will be shipped via USPS within 72 business hours. There is no tracking number, so please keep an eye on your mailbox.
If you need to update your shipping address, please email happygut@drheatherfinley.co as soon as possible. If you are international, you will receive instructions for how to complete your sample and you will not get a kit in the mail.
If you are a Canadian client — please see this document for instructions on how to collect your hair sample and mail your sample without a test kit.
Register on the Client Portal
Activate your account in our client portal, Practice Better (HIPAA-compliant).
Please register right away as our portal contains detailed information about how the HTMA test works and instructions for collecting your hair sample.
Complete Your Intake Form
Once you’ve registered, your HTMA Intake Form will appear automatically inside your portal.
Please complete it promptly so our team can begin preparing your file.
Complete & Mail Your HTMA Sample
When your kit arrives, follow the included instructions and send your sample back to the lab.
Need help? Watch the HTMA collection video. Please make sure you fill out your requisition form in its entirety! If your sample arrives at the lab without a name, you will have to recollect.
Book Your 1:1 Review Call
Once your results are in (typically 7-10 business days), you’ll receive an email to book your review call.
Please do not schedule before receiving your results.
Before You Go — A Few FAQs
Your kit includes a small scale and the sample should be enough to “tip” it over, about a hefty tablespoon of hair.
It’s best to collect hair from 2–3 spots on your head. Ask a friend, partner, or stylist for help if needed.
Yes, but wait 10–15 washes after coloring or ensure at least 1 cm of new growth before collecting.
Results arrive in about 7-10 business days. Please wait up to 3 weeks before checking in.
Will diet or supplements impact results?
No, this test measures 3-month mineral status, so short-term changes don’t affect outcomes.
Can I send the sample from New York?
No. If you live in NY, please mail your sample to:

Our team will send it for you. If you do send from NY, the sample will be discarded by the lab and you will have to recollect!
Scalp hair is ideal, but if you don’t have enough, pubic hair is acceptable, just note this on your requisition form.
